Media releases Joyce Wins 2003 Mazda NSW Trainee Championship at Horizons Friday, 8 August 2003 Victorian trainee Martin Joyce today took out the 2003 Mazda NSW Trainee Championship after shooting a three over par 75 to finish with a four round total of 284, 4 under par. Joyce was never really challenged as final group players Kate Leyshon (NSW) and Scott Fisher (NSW) found the going tough. Scott Fisher shot 73 today to finish runner up, seven shots behind Joyce on 291. Warwick Dews (NSW) shot a 72 today to finish third on a total of 293. The low round of the day belonged to Anthony Gomez (NSW) who had a fine 3 under par 69. Joyce picked up the winners cheque for $7,200 while Fisher collected $4,360 as runner up. Defending Champion Danny Vera finished with a solid three over par 75 today to finish in tied 5th position on 297. |
