Media releases Byrnes Set for Second LPGA Sectional Qualifying Tournament Wednesday, 17 September 2003 Horizons Golf Resort’s Touring Professional, Cherie Byrnes will compete in the second and final sectional qualifier for the 2004 LPGA Tour which will be played from 17-20 September 2003 at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, California. The first stage of the LPGA Sectional Qualifying Tournament was held 26-29 August in Venice and Byrnes missed by two shots to be in the top 30 players to advance to the final qualifying tournament to be held on 21-24 October at the LPGA International, Legends Course, Daytona Beach, Florida. Byrnes will be among 170 players in this week’s field with 19 amateurs and 154 who competed in the Florida sectional. The 72-hole sectional will be played on the Palmer and Dinah Shore courses and the field will be cut to the low 70 players and ties after 36 holes.
