Media releases Horizons Employees Recognised for Excellence Monday, 24 May 2004 Horizons Golf Resort trainee Ryan Ross has been selected as winner in the category of Hospitality/Tourism Industry as Trainee of the Year in the 2004 NSW Group Training Awards and Food and Beverage attendant Melissa Duthie has been chosen for a Pride of Workmanship Award by the Salamander Bay Rotary Club. The NSW Group Training Association conducts the NSW Group Training Awards to recognise outstanding achievement in the vocational education and training sector. The Awards reward and honour the achievements of apprentices, trainees, host employers and group training organisations. Ryan will attend the 2004 NSW Group Training Awards on Friday, 4 June in Sydney where the overall Trainee of the Year will be announced and will be competing against the winners of the other eight categories. Melissa will be awarded her Pride of Workmanship Award during the Salamander Bay Rotary Club dinner being held at the Resort on 1st June 2004. Melissa has demonstrated outstanding ability and diligence and has been recognised for her work in Amaryllis and Horizons Cafe and will be the first candidate to receive the Pride of Workmanship Award by the Salamander Bay charter. General Manager, Mike Orloff said “At Horizons Golf Resort, we are proud of our strong commitment to training and work closely with our partners in training such as MEGT (Australia) Ltd to ensure we identify our staff training needs and develop career paths for individual employees. It is a most pleasing result for both Ryan and Melissa and is an indication of the talents that both possess in their chosen field.” |
