The second round of the Australian Amputee Golf Open was played today with some perfect tournament conditions. Clear skies and some wind to mix it up for the Amputee competitors.

Shane Luke celebrated his 35th birthday today shooting 35 on the font nine and creeping into the lead with his sights on taking out the tournament for the third year in a row. At one shot ahead of fellow competitor Ben Field, Luke said “the course is in excellent condition and is a pleasure to play, it will make it interesting if the wind is blowing again tomorrow but I am happy to be a shot ahead”.

At one shot behind Ben Field said ”Shane’s the man to beat, the course is a very similar layout to my home club Windaroo Lakes, so I am feeling confident and hoping to take it out tomorrow.”

Steve Prior from Queensland currently sitting in third spot had to say “I am really enjoying my week here at the resort, it’s a breeze having accommodation on course, it really makes it much easier to run a national competition”. When asked about his chance tomorrow he added “there is really four people who can win it, I’ll be attacking the course tomorrow to give myself the best possible chance”.

The Australian Amputee Golf Open will have the final round of competition tomorrow with tee times from 10.00 am and will be wrapped up by a presentation dinner with special guest Brett Ogle.
